Boots'n'all
White gloves and worn-in boots in stark contrast. Marine Corps graduation day at Parris Island, South Carolina. New graduates, ready to take their place in the United States Armed Forces.
The Marine Corps is a component of the Department of the Navy, and maintains both amphibious and ground units for contingency and combat operations.
The young graduates pictured here, have chosen to put their lives on the line for the defense and protection of the United States.
The US military has almost 3 million people, including Active Duty: about 1.3 million, Reserve: about 750,000, and Civilian Workers: almost 800,000.
As a mother of young military men, and as an editor of Veritas Chronicles, I applaud the commitment of the peace through strength policy, underpinned by a well trained and equipped US military.
